Last Tuesday, everything went Chilton County's way against Wetumpka as Chilton County made off with a 63-42 win. Given Chilton County's advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 114th, while Wetumpka is ranked 280th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Iasia Anderson, who dropped a triple-double on 20 points, ten assists, and 11 steals. Anderson is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Ishunti Brown, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Pike Road blew past Lanier, posting a 65-27 victory at home.
Chilton County is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. As for Pike Road, their victory bumped their record up to 11-2.
