The Siegel Stars suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Tuesday. They had to suffer through a rough 47-17 loss at the hands of Blackman. While losing is never fun, Siegel can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 208th, while Blackman is ranked 39th).
When it comes to explaining why Siegel lost, one person who can't be blamed is Tishana Moore. Despite the final result, she scored seven points along with two steals.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Blackman to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kaelyn Flowers, who scored 17 points along with four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Lyriq Mastin, who scored 11 points along with five steals.
Siegel has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost ten of their last 11 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season. As for Blackman, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-7.
Siegel will head out on the road to challenge Riverdale at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Riverdale is on a five-game streak of home losses, Siegel a six-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. Blackman will take on Oakland at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
