The Olympus Titans will face off against the Box Elder Bees at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Olympus 3.2, Box Elder 2.5) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Olympus is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They won by a run and slipped past Clearfield 2-1.
Charlie Turner spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on six hits.
On the hitting side, Allisson Robles was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
Meanwhile, Box Elder entered their tilt with Bonneville on Friday with seven consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with eight. They walked away with a 9-5 victory over the Lakers. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last three times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Box Elder also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and she was also dialed-in: Lucy Braegger gave up three earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up 12 Ks.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Lucy Griffin, who fired off two home runs, four runs, and four RBI while going 3-for-4. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April. Brooke Richards was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two RBI.
Box Elder hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least three batters in seven consecutive games.
Olympus pushed their record up to 21-3 with the win, which was their 21st straight at home dating back to last season. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games. As for Box Elder, their win bumped their record up to 26-3.
Tuesday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Olympus has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .479. However, it's not like Box Elder struggles in that department as they've averaged .528. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
