After both having extra time off, the Hernando Leopards and the Citrus Hurricanes will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hernando has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since the 12th.
Hernando managed to slip by Springstead the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Leopards came up short against the Eagles on Tuesday, falling 3-0.
While Hernando was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. The final score came out to 25-16, 25-22, 25-15.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Citrus, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over Nature Coast Tech on Tuesday. The Hurricanes not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since October 12, 2024 (when they won 3-0).
Citrus never let Nature Coast Tech on the board, but things got pretty close in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 28-26, 25-17, 25-17.
Hernando's loss dropped their record down to 7-13. As for Citrus, their win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 3-14.
Hernando beat Citrus 2-0 in their previous meeting on September 6th. Do the Leopards have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Hurricanes turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
