Auburn barely beat Raymond Central the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Bulldogs blew past the Mustangs 12-2 on Monday. Winning may never get old, but the Bulldogs sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Mason Schultz made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. That double marked the first that he has hit this season.
In other batting news, Jack Hilgenfeld was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high.
Auburn's record now sits at 6-4. As for Raymond Central, they dropped their record down to 1-6 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.
