After two games on the road, Comanche is heading back home. They will take on the Millsap Bulldogs at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Comanche knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matches -- so hopefully Millsap likes a good challenge.
In what's become a running theme this season, Comanche gave their fans yet another huge victory on Wednesday. They took their game on the road with ease, bagging a 63-14 victory over Peaster. Given Comanche's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 75th, while Peaster is ranked 1058th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Even though Millsap has not done well against Breckenridge recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Millsap narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Breckenridge 43-41. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory Millsap has posted yet this season.
Claire Dale continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 21 points and 11 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Cori Ground, who scored five points along with 11 rebounds and two steals.
Comanche pushed their record up to 24-2 with that victory, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.4 points per game. As for Millsap, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-14 record this season.
Comanche was able to grind out a solid victory over Millsap in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, winning 50-39. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Dale, who scored 23 points along with eight rebounds and three blocks. Now that she's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Comanche still be able to contain him? There's only one way to find out.
