The Seminole Warhawks scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They walked away with a 54-41 victory over Largo. The victory was just what Seminole needed coming off of a 58-28 loss in their prior contest.
Seminole had a senior duo take command as Devon Swartz scored 20 points along with five rebounds and five blocks and Laney Pearson scored 16 points along with five rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Swartz has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Molly Follett, who scored seven points.
Mikayla Paschal and Abbie Lindfors certainly did their best on Thursday to try and avoid the loss. Paschal dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds, while Lindfors scored nine points along with six rebounds. Paschal hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for seven straight games.
Even though they lost, Largo smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Seminole only pulled down four offensive rebounds.
Seminole has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-10 record this season. As for Largo, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-6.
Seminole and IMG Academy Blue will face off at 3:00 p.m. on January 15th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Largo will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Clearwater Central Catholic at 2:00 p.m. on January 13th. Clearwater Central Catholic has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
