The Clifton Mustangs fell victim to the Westfield Blue Devils''s stalwart defense on Saturday and couldn't make it onto the board. They had to suffer through a rough 36-0 loss at the hands of the Blue Devils. Clifton's loss continues a unfortunate trend for the squad, making it four in a row.
Leading Westfield to victory were Max Cho and Luke Jordan. Cho threw for 178 yards and three touchdowns while completing 84.6% of his passes, while Jordan rushed for 137 yards and a touchdown while picking up 8.6 yards per carry. Jordan was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 52 yards. Westfield also got help from Enzo Ferrero who showed off his sure hands for 86 receiving yards.
Westfield's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB four times. Leading the way was Maxwell Romano and his two sacks.
Clifton has been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season. As for Westfield, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Clifton does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Westfield will square off against Phillipsburg at TBD on Friday. Phillipsburg will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
