The Marshall County Tigers pushed their score all the way to 55 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 59-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of Tullahoma. Marshall County lost against Tullahoma in their previous head to head back in February of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 62-61 score last time.
Marshall County's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Jabrae Howard, who scored 12 points along with nine rebounds, and Aja Jones who scored 11 points. The contest was Howard's seventh in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Marcus Oneal, who scored ten points.
Marshall County has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-6 record this season. As for Tullahoma, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-6.
Marshall County will be playing in front of their home fans against Giles County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Tennessee (Giles County is ranked 119th, while Marshall County is ranked 121st). As for Tullahoma, they will head out on the road to face off against Central Magnet at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Central Magnet knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four games -- so hopefully Tullahoma likes a good challenge.
