Owosso has won four straight games at home, while St. Clair has won four straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Saturday. The Trojans will welcome the Saints at 11:00 a.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Owosso's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Durand with a sharp 13-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Trojans in their matchups with the Railroaders: they've now won four in a row.
Hailie Caswell looked comfortable as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up a single earned run any time she's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Audri Hrncharik, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. She also put up a triple, which was her first of the season. Danica Dwyer was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.
Owosso always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .552. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Durand only posted an OBP of .176.
Meanwhile, St. Clair made easy work of Fraser on Wednesday and carried off a 10-0 victory.
Hayley McFarlane tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out six over five innings pitched.
At the plate, St. Clair got a massive performance out of Sofia Russell, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Madisyn Treat, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI.
St. Clair's win bumped their record up to 6-0. As for Owosso, their victory bumped their record up to 4-0.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Owosso has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 12 hits per game. However, it's not like St. Clair struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.8 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Owosso might still be hurting after the 12-2 loss they got from St. Clair when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Trojans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
