This season hasn't been kind to the Riverside Military Academy Eagles, who are still winless after their fifth contest. They took a serious blow against Commerce on Tuesday, falling 74-33. Riverside Military Academy has struggled against Commerce recently, as their game on Tuesday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Commerce was led to victory by Tyler Sorrells and Evan Peters. Sorrells scored 16 points along with three steals, while Peters scored 14 points along with six steals and five rebounds. Those six steals set a new season-high mark for him. Mason Brown was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Riverside Military Academy's loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-5. As for Commerce, their win bumped their record up to 4-8.
Riverside Military Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Cottage at 6:00 p.m. on January 10, 2024. Commerce will be home for the holidays to greet Banks County at 8:30 p.m. on Friday. Banks County knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three games -- so hopefully Commerce likes a good challenge.
