Even though the Discovery Canyon Thunder have not done well against the Lewis-Palmer Rangers recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Discovery Canyon walked away with a 66-55 win over Lewis-Palmer. The score was all tied up 32-32 at the break, but Discovery Canyon was the better team in the second half.
Discovery Canyon's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Noah Eckles, who scored 14 points along with two blocks. Another player making a difference was Nick Martidis, who scored eight points along with nine assists and six steals.
Several Rangers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Cohen Edmondson, who scored 16 points along with four steals. Noah Johnson was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with two steals.
Discovery Canyon has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. As for Lewis-Palmer, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-6.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Air Academy the next time they take the court. Discovery Canyon will host Air Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, while Lewis-Palmer will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
