They came out on top against Saxony Lutheran by a score of 59-47. This was payback for Jackson, who suffered a 41-37 loss the last time these two teams met.
Saxony Lutheran's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Evie Caruso, who almost dropped a double-double on 22 points and nine rebounds. Caruso has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times she's played. Rebecca Johnson was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with five assists and three steals.
Jackson is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. As for Saxony Lutheran, their loss ended a seven-game streak of away wins and brought them to 17-8.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North County will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Missouri Rankings (they are ranked 299th, while Saxony Lutheran is ranked 100th).
