The Centennial Rams's 14-7 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They took a 48-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of Cotopaxi. Centennial has not had much luck with Cotopaxi recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.
Despite the loss, Centennial still got an impressive performance from Devon Vigil, who scored 21 points along with six steals. That's the first time this season that Vigil scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Martin Navarro, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds.
Cotopaxi's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Terrance Evans, who scored 18 points along with nine rebounds and three steals. Evans is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Joel Tezak, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Centennial's defeat was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 2-4. As for Cotopaxi, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.
Centennial will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Trinidad at 6:30 p.m. Trinidad comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Cotopaxi, they will head out on the road to square off against Del Norte at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday.
