The Fountain-Fort Carson Trojans can finally bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They had just enough and edged Vista Ridge out 58-55. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win Fountain-Fort Carson has posted yet this season.
Fountain-Fort Carson was led to victory by Alexander Rivera and Trevor Coleman. Rivera scored 14 points, while Coleman scored six points along with seven rebounds and six blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Malik Hall, who scored seven points.
Despite the loss, Vista Ridge still got an impressive performance from Ian Glenn, who scored 13 points along with eight assists and eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was Brandon Avance, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds.
Fountain-Fort Carson's win bumped their record up to 6-7. As for Vista Ridge, their loss was their fourth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 4-10.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fountain-Fort Carson's road trip will continue as they head out to face Falcon at 7:00 p.m. on January 22nd. As for Vista Ridge, they will take on Pine Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
