Malcolm has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against the Louisville Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Malcolm focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Saturday.
Last Saturday, Malcolm came up short against Raymond Central and fell 61-53.
Despite the loss, Malcolm saw an underclassman step up: Halle Dolliver dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds. The match was Dolliver's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Abby Zegar, who scored 11 points.
Louisville can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Saturday. They enjoyed a cozy 53-38 victory over Brownell Talbot. Louisville's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Malcolm's defeat was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 4-3. As for Louisville, their victory bumped their record up to 3-5.
Everything came up roses for Malcolm against Louisville in their previous matchup back in December of 2022 as the team secured a 64-23 victory. With Malcolm ahead 41-8 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
