The Palmetto Ridge Bears on the road again on Friday and play against the Southeast Seminoles at 7:00 p.m. on January 26th. Hopefully Palmetto Ridge is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Southeast in Florida (Palmetto Ridge is ranked 84th, while Southeast is ranked 369th).
Palmetto Ridge posted their closest win yet this season on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Fort Myers 50-48.
It was another big night for Calven Charles, who dropped a double-double on 27 points and ten rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Palmetto Ridge's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeriah Muldrow, who scored eight points along with four steals.
Meanwhile, Southeast's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their sixth straight loss. They took a hard 57-42 fall against Braden River.
Palmetto Ridge's win was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-3. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.3 points per game. As for Southeast, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season.
