The Bennett Tigers won the last time they faced the Jefferson Saints, and things went their way on Monday too. Bennett came out on top against Jefferson by a score of 45-37.
Bennett was led to victory by Jessica Venneberg and Lily Venneberg. Venneberg scored 18 points along with five steals, while Venneberg dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Venneberg has scored at least a third of Bennett's points. Olivia Schroeder was another key contributor, scoring four points along with four steals.
Bennett is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record this season. As for Jefferson, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bennett's road trip will continue as they head out to face Eaton at 6:00 p.m. on February 14th. As for Jefferson, they will square off against KIPP Denver Collegiate at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.
