Northeastern pushed their record up to 6-1 with that win, which was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.2 points per game. As for Holmes, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northeastern won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Catholic at 5:30 p.m. on January 5th. Catholic is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games. As for Holmes, they will head out on the road to face off against Pasquotank County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Pasquotank County will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 497th, while Holmes is ranked 247th).
