Tuscola and West Henderson are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2019, but not for long. The Tuscola Mountaineers will head out on the road to take on the West Henderson Falcons at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Tuscola has struggled recently with six losses in a row, while West Henderson will arrive with three straight wins.
On Friday, Tuscola ended up a good deal behind Smoky Mountain and lost 73-54.
Despite the defeat, Tuscola got a solid performance out of Jed West, who scored 25 points along with six rebounds and six steals. West continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jeremy Horton, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and three blocks.
Franklin typically has all the answers at home, but on Friday West Henderson proved too difficult a challenge. They walked away with a 61-51 win over the Panthers.
Tuscola's defeat was their 20th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-18. That rough patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.9 points per game. As for West Henderson, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season.
Tuscola suffered a grim 62-36 defeat to West Henderson when the teams last played back in January. Can Tuscola avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
