Westtown will challenge the Solebury Spartans at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams are strolling into their matches after big wins in their previous games.
Westtown is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by a 17-8 margin over Collegium Charter last Wednesday. Westtown not only won last Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 6, 2024 (when they won 15-5).
Aidan Eager made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits. Eager was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
In other pitching news, Forrest Mojica looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.
Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Jackson Young, who fired off two home runs, five RBI, and three runs while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances. Francisco Benbow was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Westtown hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Collegium Charter struck out 13 times.
Meanwhile, Solebury got the win against Cristo Rey Philadelphia on Thursday by a conclusive 12-5.
Like Westtown, Solebury also got a great game from a two-way player: Obie Taylor. He tossed two innings while giving up just one earned run but no hits. Taylor was also big at the plate, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Bering Read was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and one run. Those hits were his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Cam Conrad, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Westtown pushed their record up to 3-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Solebury, the win got them back to even at 2-2.
