The River Valley Dust Devils will head out on the road to square off against the Winslow Bulldogs at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. River Valley is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.9 runs per game this season.
River Valley is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Kingman just ended the team's seven-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 8-7.

Sophia Reyes put in work while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over six innings while giving up four earned (and four unearned) runs off seven hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one triple and one RBI.
In other batting news, Tamarie Williams was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. Chastiny Gonzalez also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
Meanwhile, Winslow got the win against Blue Ridge on Tuesday by a conclusive 17-4. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 games by six runs or more this season.
Like River Valley, Winslow also got a great game from a two-way player: Kyah Wilcox. She struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up four earned runs off four hits. Wilcox was also big at the plate, going 4-for-5 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Cassius Tsosie, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. Ara Leonard was another key player, going 1-for-5 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI.
Winslow was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .412. They are 14-2 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Winslow has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-11 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for River Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 16-5-1.
Wednesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. River Valley hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .530. However, it's not like Winslow struggles in that department as they've averaged .439. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
River Valley skirted past Winslow 3-1 in their previous matchup back in April of 2019. Will the Dust Devils repeat their success, or do the Bulldogs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
