Basketball Recap: Friday's Victory Is Westover Christian Academy's Fifth in Last Six Outings

Westover Christian Academy won against Christian Heritage Academy last Thursday with 62 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. The Westover Christian Academy Bulldogs strolled past the Timberlake Christian Tornadoes with points to spare, taking the game 62-43. With that win, the Bulldogs brought their scoring average up to 50.5 points per game.

It was another big night for Caleb Hill, who went 6 for 11 from beyond the arc on his way to 28 points and eight boards. That's the most points he has posted since back in January of 2024. Another player making a difference was Malachi Waller, who posted seven points along with seven rebounds and five blocks.

Westover Christian Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

Timberlake Christian's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sawyer Epps, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 boards. Epps is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down nine or more in the last six games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jonathan Dowd, who had ten points and five boards.

Westover Christian Academy has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.5 points per game. As for Timberlake Christian, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Westover Christian Academy will venture away from home to take on New Covenant at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. New Covenant is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.9 points per game this season. As for Timberlake Christian, they are taking a road trip to face off against Faith Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Timberlake Christian is facing Faith Christian Academy at the right time seeing as Faith Christian Academy is stuck on a six-game losing streak.
