The Lowell Red Devils won the last time they faced the South Bend St. Joseph Indians, and things went their way on Saturday too. Lowell took down South Bend St. Joseph 37-21.
Elysia Laub was the offensive standout of the match as she scored 14 points along with five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Kirstin Summers, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds.
South Bend St. Joseph's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Kenadie Schrock, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and five steals, and Kayla Woods who scored eight points along with 11 rebounds and five steals. That was a full 38.1% of South Bend St. Joseph's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Lowell's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 12-9. As for South Bend St. Joseph, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-15 record this season.
Lowell will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Merrillville at 7:00 p.m. Merrillville will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak. As for South Bend St. Joseph, they will head out on the road to challenge Lighthouse College Prep Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
