Baseball Recap: Snowflake Picks Up Sixth Consecutive Win

Snowflake barely beat Holbrook the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Lobos never let the Roadrunners get on the board and left with a 20-0 victory on Saturday. The Lobos might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by ten runs or more this season.

Skip Bawden and Tate Matthews were major factors no matter where they played. Throwing, Bawden tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Matthews pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March. At bat, Bawden went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI, while Matthews went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Aaden Coor, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyler Matthews, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs.

Snowflake always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .675. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Holbrook only posted an OBP of .250.

The win (which was Snowflake's sixth in a row) raised their record to 17-6. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Holbrook, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-15 record this season.

Snowflake has already played their next contest, a 10-0 win against Winslow on the 28th. As for Holbrook, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 9-8 victory against Alchesay on the 28th.
