The Madison County Cowboys have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 29 points or more this season. They really took it to Munroe for the full four quarters, racking up a 58-21 win at home. The victory was just what Madison County needed coming off of a 71-36 defeat in their prior matchup.
Leading Madison County to victory were Jaidyn Wesley and Janiyah Mcknight. Wesley dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds, while Mcknight scored 26 points along with three steals. That makes it ten consecutive games in which Mcknight has scored at least 25% of Madison County's points. Johnerrica Jackson was another key contributor, scoring four points along with four steals.
Despite the loss, Munroe still got an impressive performance from Mya Mccullar, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 15 rebounds. Mccullar is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Munroe struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Madison County racked up 15 assists.
Madison County's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.3 points per game. As for Munroe, they now have a losing record at 3-4.
Madison County will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Florida State University High School at 6:00 p.m. on January 2nd. As for Munroe, they will head out on the road to face off against Arnold at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
