On Wednesday, Lincoln County came up short against Mohave and fell 54-45. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Lincoln County came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 57th in Nevada, while Mohave is ranked 227th in Arizona).
Despite the loss, Lincoln County still got an impressive performance from Kalen Bart, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 rebounds. Curtis Rippetoe was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with eight rebounds.
Even though they lost, Lincoln County were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Kingzten Bristol was his usual excellent self, scoring 25 points along with six rebounds and four steals for Mohave. That makes it seven consecutive games in which Bristol has scored at least 25% of Mohave's points. Another player making a difference was Pedro Marentes, who scored seven points.
Lincoln County's defeat dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Mohave, their victory bumped their record up to 3-5.
Lincoln County and Pinecrest Academy Sloan Canyon will face off at 11:00 a.m. on December 21st without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Mohave will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Prescott at 7:00 p.m. on January 2, 2024.
