Clarion Area is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. Everything went their way against Greensburg Central Catholic as they made off with a 15-5 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bobcats.
Dylan Smail was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over 4.2 innings pitched. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up a single earned run in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Clarion Area let Billy Kahle and Wyatt Watterson run wild. Kahle went 4-for-5 with five RBI and one run, while Watterson got on base in three of his five plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Those five RBI gave Kahle a new career-high. Carter Hindman was another key player, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with two RBI and one run.
Meanwhile, Eden Christian Academy made easy work of Homer-Center on Thursday and carried off a 16-6 victory.
The team relied heavily on Brady Hull, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. Josh Tilden also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Eden Christian Academy has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 13 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.7 runs over those games. As for Clarion Area, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-6.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Clarion Area has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.5 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Eden Christian Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 8.3 strikeouts.
