After three games on the road, Beecher is heading back home. They will take on the Bendle Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the pair will really light up the scoreboard.
Beecher can now show off six landslide victories after their most recent game on Thursday. They were the clear victor by a 73-52 margin over Atherton. Given Beecher's advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 156th, while Atherton is ranked 717th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Bendle struggled with assists on Tuesday (Durand had seven more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Bendle fell to Durand 70-65. That's two games in a row now that Bendle has lost by exactly five points.
Bendle might have lost, but man, Malis Firman was a machine: he scored 21 points along with seven assists and four steals. Firman has been hot recently, having posted four or more steals the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Gabe Alomar, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Beecher is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. As for Bendle, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-7.
Beecher strolled past Bendle when the teams last played back in December of 2023 by a score of 73-59. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Bendle's Malik Neal, who scored 14 points along with five assists and two steals.
