Fishburne Military suffered their biggest defeat since December 5, 2023 on Thursday. They took a serious blow against Roanoke Catholic, falling 82-49. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Fishburne Military has suffered against Roanoke Catholic since January 10, 2019.
New Covenant has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They took a 56-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of Miller School of Albemarle on Thursday. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for New Covenant in their matchups with Miller School of Albemarle: they've now lost three in a row.
Despite the loss, New Covenant got a solid performance out of Daniel VanVoorhis, who scored no points along with 60 steals. That's the first time this season that VanVoorhis grabbed two or more steals. Another player making a difference was Douglas Powell, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 16 rebounds.
Fishburne Military's defeat dropped their record down to 1-13. As for New Covenant, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-2.
