Basketball Recap: Alta Skates Past West with Ease

Alta waltzed into their contest on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They breezed by the West Panthers to the tune of 68-40. The Hawks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six games by 21 points or more this season.

Alta was led to victory by Dash Reiser and Boston Gray. Reiser posted 19 points, while Gray dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten boards. Gray is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. Cooper Dowdell also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

Alta was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as West only racked up five assists.

Several Panthers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Saladi Maluak, who scored 11 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Lester Falatea, who put up eight points.

Alta's record is now 15-5. As for West, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Alta will face off against Highland at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Alta is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 65.6 points per game this season. As for West, they and East will meet in a classic East v. West matchup at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. West is facing East at the right time seeing as East is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
