Cedarville is 0-9 against Mansfield since April of 2016 but things could change on Tuesday. The Cedarville Pirates will look to defend their home field against the Mansfield Tigers at 4:30 p.m. Cedarville is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.

Having struggled with 16 defeats in a row dating back to last season, Cedarville turned things around against Magazine on Monday. They put the hurt on the Rattlers with a sharp 19-7 victory. The high-scoring effort was just what the Pirates needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.

Justice Workman and Jax Cross did most of the damage at the plate: Workman scored five runs and stole Three bases. while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances, while Cross went a perfect 5-for-5 with four stolen bases, five RBI, and three runs. Workman also brought in three RBI, marking his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Gabe Gravelle, who scored three runs and stole Two bases. while going 3-for-6.

Cedarville always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .674. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Mansfield challenged Booneville on Friday. Mansfield narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Booneville 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Tigers have posted since May 3, 2024.

The win made it two in a row for Mansfield and bumps their season record up to 2-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Cedarville, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Cedarville might still be hurting after the 13-2 loss they got from Mansfield in their previous matchup back in April of 2019. Can Cedarville avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
