South Elgin entered their tilt with Aurora East on Monday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They never let the Tomcats get on the board and left with a 14-0 victory. The Storm might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine games by seven runs or more this season.

South Elgin got a great performance from Colin Tuftedal as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Those ten strikeouts gave Tuftedal a new career-high.

At the plate, Ryan Mirante and Nathan Kmiec did most of the damage at the plate: Mirante went 2-for-3 with four RBI, one triple, and one stolen base, while Kmiec went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Those four RBI gave Mirante a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Tyler Weeks, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.

South Elgin was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .409. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

South Elgin's win bumped their record up to 13-9. As for Aurora East, they are on a 19-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-12.

South Elgin will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Tomcats: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
