Basketball Recap: Rise Academy Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Win

Rise Academy extended their winning streak to five games thanks to a huge performance from Trevonte Atkins. The Rise Academy Guardians breezed by the Life Christian Academy Eagles to the tune of 83-41 on Tuesday thanks in part to Atkins, who posted 27 points and seven assists. He is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for four straight games.

The team also got some help courtesy of Nathaniel Seaborn, who had 17 points. The contest was his fifth in a row with at least ten points.

When it comes to explaining why Life Christian Academy lost, don't look at Travis Holloman. Despite the final result, he went 9 for 11 en route to 18 points and three steals. Holloman has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Brendan Perkins, who scored seven points.

Rise Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.9 points per game. As for Life Christian Academy, they dropped their record down to 4-11 with the defeat, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Rise Academy will look to defend their home court on January 28th against The Carmel School at 6:00 p.m. As for Life Christian Academy, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 65-47 loss against Grace Christian School on the 23rd.
