Football Recap: Drake Dumont Key Part of Team Effort in Spartans Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against North Smithfield, Scituate was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They took down Exeter-West Greenwich/Prout 21-6. For the Spartans, this counts as revenge for the 12-0 win Exeter-West Greenwich/Prout walked away with the last time they faced one another back in November of 2024.

Scituate's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Drake Dumont, who rushed for 103 yards and one touchdown. Those 103 rushing yards gave Dumont a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Aiden Grover, who rushed for 32 yards and one score.

Scituate's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Exeter-West Greenwich/Prout, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Scituate will take on rival Tiverton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Exeter-West Greenwich/Prout is set to face off against their familiar foe North Smithfield at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
