Softball Recap: Palatka's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Palatka waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Peniel Baptist Academy Warriors a 16-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won eight contests by eight runs or more so far this season.

Cali Taylor was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with four runs, four RBI, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Zophia Clark, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three doubles, four RBI, and two runs.

Palatka was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .600. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .304 or higher in four consecutive games.

Palatka now has a winning record of 11-10. As for Peniel Baptist Academy, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-6.

Palatka and Peniel Baptist Academy should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings. The Panthers (ranked 158th) will meet Interlachen (ranked 395th) at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Peniel Baptist Academy will face off against Crescent City at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (210 vs. 442).
