The Fossil Ridge Sabercats had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They came out on top against Rangeview by a score of 56-48 on Thursday. For Fossil Ridge, this counts as revenge for the 54-49 loss Rangeview walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2022.
Fossil Ridge's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Carmen Arkin, who scored 9 points along with 8 rebounds and 3 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Elli Johnson, who scored 10 points.
Fossil Ridge's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Rangeview, they have fallen quite a ways from their 16-8 record last season and are now at 1-3.
Fossil Ridge won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Mountain View at 7:00 p.m. on December 8th. As for Rangeview, they will face off against Poudre at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Poudre has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
