The Salmen Spartans and the Amite Warriors will face off at 7:00 p.m. on February 5th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. One thing working in Salmen's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four contests.
Last Saturday, Salmen strolled past the Knights with points to spare, taking the game 68-52.
Shawn Washington was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 26 points and 12 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Tre Hartley, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds and six assists.
Meanwhile, Amite came up short against the Lions on Saturday and fell 55-44.
Salmen's victory bumped their record up to 13-16. As for Amite, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-15.
Everything came up roses for Salmen against the Warriors when the teams last played back in January of 2023 as the team secured a 78-47 win. Will Salmen repeat their success, or do the Warriors have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
