Basketball Game Preview: Orchard Park Quakers vs. Jamestown Red & Green

The Orchard Park Quakers will square off against the Jamestown Red & Green at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Orchard Park has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.

Orchard Park is headed into the contest after thoroughly thrashing Frontier: they outscored them in every quarter. Orchard Park was the clear victor by a 67-42 margin over Frontier on Tuesday. The Quakers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matchups by 25 points or more this season.

Halle Senfield was her usual excellent self, putting up 18 points in addition to seven assists and six rebounds. Her evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Maggie Gocella, who posted seven points along with eight boards and six steals.

Orchard Park smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in 11 consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Jamestown played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 63-32 loss at the hands of Lancaster. The Red & Green were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-8.

Orchard Park's victory was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-2. As for Jamestown, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.

Everything came up roses for Orchard Park against Jamestown when the teams last played back in December of 2024, as the squad secured a 72-26 win. In that game, Orchard Park amassed a halftime lead of 39-17, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
