The Rio Hondo Prep Kares will challenge the La Salle Lancers at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Rio Hondo Prep lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Mayfield, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Friday's match. The Kares put the hurt on the Cubs with a sharp 9-3 win on Friday. Winning may never get old, but the Kares sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

BRYCE JOHNSON made a splash while hitting and pitching. She pitched six innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. JOHNSON was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs while going 2-for-2. Those three runs gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, MADISON BURL was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. EVONNY ORTEGA was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.
Meanwhile, La Salle waltzed into their game on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Pacers.
Like Rio Hondo Prep, La Salle also got a great game from a two-way player: Barbie Solis. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. Solis has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.
In other batting news, Layla Loya was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with three doubles and four RBI. Another player making a difference was Aria Davis, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.
La Salle's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-4. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.5 runs over those games. As for Rio Hondo Prep, their victory bumped their record up to 9-3.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Saturday as neither team is afraid to steal. Rio Hondo Prep has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.5 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like La Salle struggles in that department as they've been averaging 2.9 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
