The Moses Lake Mavericks put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their undefeated season alive. They breezed by West Valley at home to the tune of 47-13. The result was nothing new for Moses Lake, who have now won six contests by 21 points or more so far this season.
Brady Jay continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 406 yards and seven touchdowns while completing 84.4% of his passes. Jay is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last six games he's played. Kyson Thomas was another key contributor, picking up 187 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Moses Lake's victory was their sixth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 8-0. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 2-6 Davis and 2-6 Eisenhower (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 38.8% over those games). As for West Valley, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-4.
Moses Lake will head out on the road to face off against Eastmont at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Eastmont is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. As for West Valley, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Wenatchee at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Washington (Wenatchee is ranked 104th, while West Valley is ranked 116th).
