The Fillmore Central Panthers will be home for the holidays to greet the Adams Central Patriots on Friday. The timing isn't great for Fillmore Central: they have been struggling with four straight losses at home dating back to last season, while Adams Central has snatched up 13 consecutive wins on the road dating back to last season.
Last Tuesday, Fillmore Central lost to Thayer Central on the road by a decisive 45-26 margin. While losing is never fun, Fillmore Central can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 243rd, while Thayer Central is ranked 114th).
Meanwhile, Adams Central didn't have too much trouble with St. Paul at home on Tuesday as they won 55-38. Despite the win, that was the fewest points Adams Central has scored all season.
Fillmore Central's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Adams Central, their win bumped their record up to 5-0.
Fillmore Central was dealt a bruising 64-23 loss at the hands of Adams Central in their previous meeting back in December of 2022. The game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Fillmore Central was down 35-12.
