Despite the loss, Liberty got top-tier performance from Kaylie Phillips, who rushed for 90 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 243 yards on 25 of 37 attempts. The dominant performance gave Phillips a new career-high in rushing yards. Another player making a difference was Kilolo Westerlund, who picked up 106 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Even if they lost, Liberty's defensive line still kept up the pressure with five sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Trishelle Tucay and Nale?A Pomaikai, who racked up four sacks between them.
Meanwhile, Southeast Career Tech got themselves on the board against Del Sol on Wednesday, but Del Sol never followed suit. They took their match with ease, bagging a 44-0 victory over the Dragons. The Roadrunners might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 contests by 20 points or more this season.
Liberty's defeat dropped their record down to 8-2. As for Southeast Career Tech, their win bumped their record up to 16-4.
Liberty came up short against Southeast Career Tech when the teams last played back in January of 2024, falling 12-0. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Southeast Career Tech's Leyla Randolph, who rushed for 114 yards on only 12 carries, and also threw for 118 yards and one touchdown.
