Even though the Atholton Raiders scored an imposing 58 points on Wednesday, the Wilde Lake Wildecats still came out on top. Wilde Lake took down Atholton 74-58. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Wilde Lake.
Atholton's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Amir Shaheed, who scored 11 points. The match was Shaheed's third in a row with at least ten points. Bryce Inabinet was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
The win got Wilde Lake back to even at 2-2. As for Atholton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wilde Lake's road trip will continue as they head out to face River Hill at 6:00 p.m. on December 15th. Hopefully River Hill focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Wednesday. As for Atholton, they will head out on the road to face off against Howard at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Maryland (Howard is ranked 121st, while Atholton is ranked 110th).
