There's no place like home for the Creekside Knights, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Friday. They blew past St. Joseph Academy 52-27. Given Creekside's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 151st, while St. Joseph Academy is ranked 520th), the result on Tuesday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Creekside to victory, but perhaps none more so than Derek Rivers, who scored 11 points along with five steals. Rivers hasn't dropped below two steals for seven straight games. Another player making a difference was Alex Collier, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds.
Creekside has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season. As for St. Joseph Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 9-12.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Creekside won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against San Jose Prep at 7:00 p.m. on January 24th. As for St. Joseph Academy, they will head out on the road to challenge Oak Hall at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
