The Cotulla Cowboys's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They were outmatched by Crystal City at home and fell 56-22. Cotulla has not had much luck with Crystal City recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
Crystal City's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lyndsie Bosquez, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and seven steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Bela Tapia, who scored 11 points along with three steals.
Cotulla has been struggling recently as they've lost 15 of their last 16 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-22 record this season. As for Crystal City, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-14.
Cotulla does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Crystal City, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Lytle at 6:30 p.m. Lytle has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 654 points over their last nine games.
