Miller School of Albemarle is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Carlisle with a sharp 15-8 win on Friday. The victory continues a trend for the Mavericks in their matchups with the Chiefs: they've now won seven in a row.

Connor Lockhart was a standout: he scored two runs and stole three bases while going 1-for-4. Those stolen bases were his first of the season. Cody Peck was another key player, going 3-for-5 with four RBI.

Lockhart wasn't the only one making solid contact: Miller School of Albemarle kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in May of 2024.

Meanwhile, Cape Henry Collegiate sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over Collegiate on Friday.

Cape Henry Collegiate is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Miller School of Albemarle, their win bumped their record up to 12-5.

Miller School of Albemarle was able to grind out a solid victory over Cape Henry Collegiate when the teams last played back in May of 2024, winning 5-2. Will the Mavericks repeat their success, or do the Dolphins have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
