After having lost a blowout in their previous game against St. Joseph, the Templeton Eagles were happy to have found some success on Friday. They came out on top against Nipomo by a score of 67-59. Given Templeton's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 432nd, while Nipomo is ranked 919th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Templeton to victory, but perhaps none more so than Trevon Carter givens, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 15 rebounds. Carter givens is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last 11 games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Mcnamee, who scored 21 points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Templeton pushed their record up to 21-7 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.8 points per game. As for Nipomo, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-19.
Templeton does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Nipomo, they will head out on the road to face off against Fowler at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
