The Longmont Trojans lost against the Windsor Wizards back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Longmont received a tough blow as they fell 54-36 to the Wizards. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Longmont in their matchups with the Wizards: they've now lost six in a row.
Despite the loss, Longmont still got an impressive performance from Savannah Pohl, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine rebounds. Stella Rulon was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with five rebounds.
Windsor was led to victory by Gracie Worlsey and Brooklyn Jiricek. Worlsey scored 17 points, while Jiricek scored 15 points along with two steals. It was the first time this season that Worlsey scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Nola Greenwald, who scored ten points.
Longmont dropped their record down to 10-8 with that loss, which was their third straight at home. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 28.7 points per game. As for Windsor, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season.
Longmont will head out on the road to challenge the Wildcats at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Greeley Central focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 34 on Thursday. As for Windsor, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against the Spartans at 11:30 a.m. Greeley West has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since January 8.
