The Airport Eagles''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 49-15 loss at the hands of North Augusta. Airport has struggled against North Augusta recently, as their matchup on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
North Augusta found their leader in underclassman Michael Doe, who rushed for 197 yards and a touchdown while picking up 7.9 yards per carry, and also caught a touchdown. Doe hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Corey Tillman, who threw for 184 yards and three touchdowns.
Airport has not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season. As for North Augusta, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Airport will have plenty of time to ponder what went wrong as they've got a bye scheduled next week. After, they'll take on Westside at 7:30 p.m. on November 3rd. Westside is coming into the contest hot, having won their last eight games. As for North Augusta, they will head out on the road to face off against Midland Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Midland Valley has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 324 points over their last six matchups.
